Abandoning the hobby

Been a few years since I've participated due to power outages and the soaring cost of electricity. All my equipment is just taking up space and collecting dust. I don't mind staring at it for the few years I have left, but y'all know the saying, "Happy Wife, Happy Life."
If any members live near San Antonio, Texas and are interested in my inventory, please give me a shout out. A donation to my retirement survival would be nice, but if not c'est la vie. I'll just feel good that it continues to support the cause.

All things must come to an end, as they say. I don't think many are crunching at the same rate as years past, myself included. We appreciate your contributions, both to the team and forum. :) Best of luck for your future endeavors, if and you decide to get back in we will still be around! :USA:

The distributed computing communities and the world are not the same as when I started twenty-two years ago. There was a sense of community and common purpose that I no longer experience. I would be glad if you just drop by from time to time, BeauZeax, and say hello.

I'm glad you only caught the back side of hurricane Beryl, and I hope you did not have any damage.

I get discouraged more frequently about my involvement, especially since the project managers seem so indifferent to the members. By that, I refer to the common situation of running our of tasks on the weekends or having no work at all for lengthy periods. It is hard to "compete" without work. None of them have good communication skills. I suppose they will all eventually do the research in their labs as computers get better. I am running one Intel i9-10850K that is good at running NFS on MX Linux. I sometimes run WCG, Denis, Ralph or Rosetta depending on my mood.

Say hello so my Garibaldi kin if you run into any in or around San Antonio. Amelia was my first cousin. I wish you the best.
