Asteroids down

I don't think many of us crunch there (or at least not often), but Asteroids@Home has been down for about 6 weeks while they await new server hardware. Supposedly they will be getting the hardware in Sept. or Oct. and then relaunching when everything is ready. I was attempting to push my contribution over 1 million credits and unfortunately got caught out with a load of completed work that is now stuck in my BOINC client.

Thanks for the update, I recently tried getting some Android work and assumed there just wasn't any available at the time.

This must be why I have not been able to log in. I liked that project. Hope it comes back.

I'm a bit shocked that Asteroids might get back online before WCG does. Update from the admin on June 17:

"Update - 17-06-2022

New server is finally up and running. Website has been transfered to the new server and we now have to trasnfer all project data from old server to the new one. It will take approximately 2 weeks and after that the final project configuration will be made."

Asteroids is back up and running. I've successfully re-added the project to my BOINC manager and downloaded tasks; now waiting for my queue of MCM work to clear before seeing if the tasks complete and upload without issue. I'm only running it on one computer to hit the 1M milestone for now, still hoping that WCG gets back to full strength. I'm not sure the asteroids work is the most valuable to society, but it is nice to have another project running after the downward trend we've seen the past two years.
