Graphic card QUAD FIRMWARE or BIOS

Newbie question...What is quad firmware or bios on a graphics card? Googled it with no luck. Some type of mining firmware upgrade?
I bought an RX 470 with this Quad Firmware. This card gives me the best numbers (not really saying much) and coolest temps of anything I have. Is it the norm for this card or is it the firmware change? I did read miners switch to a lower voltage to lower heat with little loss in processing power.
Thanks

I never heard of this but it looks like it's got four BIOS' in it, or at least two that have dual mode. Yes, this is specifically for mining but there have been good reports about the RX 5xx mining cards over at the Einstein forums. It probably is reducing the voltage, AMD in general sets voltage higher than it needs to be for some reason.

Kool. That's exactly what I was looking for. From what I've read, the 470 takes far less juice under load than the 5XXs. Thinking about replacing my GTX 690 space heater with two or three low cost RX 470s. My other option is an exhaust fan into the garage.:woot:
Thanks
