Great to have you here...again. :D I never heard of Open Science Grid before, is it new? Is there a cost to researchers to use it?

Open Science Grid has been around since 2004 but is targeted towards universities and companies. You need a job batch system such as Slurm, PBS Pro, HTCondor, etc to receive jobs, so there is definitely more setup and equipment required. We are using Bright Cluster Manager to deploy a Slurm cluster using a Dell R720xd and HP c7000 with 16 BL460c Gen8 blades. Open Science Grid is free for researchers to use, but they need to be validated by the consortium, and each volunteer organization can choose which projects/research categories to support.

I haven't had time to dig into this but it sounds very interesting. Is work pretty available continuously? This kind of makes BOINC sound like small potatoes.
