USA has been entered in the CRUNCHATHLON GPUGRID [SPECIAL EDITION 7D - RACE XLVIII] sponsored by team CRUNCHERS SANS FRONTIERES.

October 2018 is the four year anniversary of the monthly CRUNCHATHLON on the GPUGrid Project. To celebrate the anniversary the duration of this months event will be a full 7 days.

The Challenge runs from 10/15/2018 17:00 UTC through 10/22/2018 17:00 UTC.

Unfortunately here we go again in that we want to be Team players and likewise support the organized challenges sponsored by CSF but once again there are currently no GPU tasks available from GPUGRID for our Team to start our contribution and of course no indication when work will become available.
I made the mistake of setting my 4 GPU boxes for strictly GPUGRID and then of course discovered no work was available; so back to reset and make SETI the fallback choice.

I want you to know Dr. Bob how much I appreciate the fine work you have done as our leader and I wish CSF would coordinate with GG before initiating the challenge series.

Another warm/cold innocuous comment: today's high temperature in Central Texas USA was 89 degrees (F) but by sunrise tomorrow it will have DROPPED by about 40 degrees; cooler weather in store for about at least another week. BET

GPU work is definitely on the short side. I was able to snag a couple this morning. Make sure your back up project(s) is set to a resource share of zero so the client gets minimal work.

Just downloaded 4 long-running tasks, 2 each on my two better cards, GTX 1060's. And yes I made sure SETI was set to zero share; thanks.

I sent a msg to the Administrator a couple days back and thanked the researchers for the extra effort of providing tasks for the Challenge. They are doing swell.

Had some strong winds come through late yesterday afternoon and the power was out for around 12 hours. That put a bit of a dent in things and dropped me from the top 20. I must have misread yesterday, according to the challenge page there's still a day left.
