OK, the additional 48 threads just came online to F@H...

BTW, is there a goal we are trying to reach on this project? It's not one of my favorite projects but I'm willing to contribute to help the team achieve a goal.
Wonderful, Doneske! Thank you!
I've never heard about a collective goal for this project, but firstly I think it would be nice if we could reach the top 500th and stay there. I asked for help, cause our Captain announced his temporarily summer reduction.
Personally and particularly, I think it would be fantastic for the folding project as a whole if the Covid Moonshot effort could finally produce an efficient drug to treat this disease.
By the way, what are your favourite projects right now (and why)?

Nothing that I'm aware of other than keeping our rank as high as we can, which is an ongoing goal on every project. Beyond that, I encourage everyone to run the projects they see the most value in.

This is a lot of hardware for a "retired" cruncher. :D

I guess one could call it semi-retired. Used to be close to 400 cores but have eliminated about 8 servers in the past 6 to 12 months. This is about as low as I'm going to go for now. Most of the cores are in the 128 thread 256GB Dell server. That one machine makes up most of my crunching power now. I have 3 Ryzen systems left (one is doing GPU work only) and the others are waiting for GPU cards to become 1. available and 2. cheaper. Until then, they are doing CPU work.

F@H is not one of my favorites because I don't quite understand what they are trying to do. They just throw work out there and get results back but I haven't found any explanation as to what the work is other than just being proteins. Also, don't understand their link to the Covid Moonshot. Most info I could find seemed out of date. Went to the support forums but not much help there. Reading their documentation leaves me thinking.. OK, so what? I tend to support the biology sites more than any of the others.

I see... They should provide more and better information. And we all hope this is not a secret bitcoin mining scheme!
