Wanted to introduce my new dedicated crunching rig. H5 flow starfield case number 498/1000 made, prime x470 pro, 16GB (soon to be 128GB) of DDR4, 5950x that was unboxed, slapped right in and has been crunching for a week or so now. Im researching GPUs as this is a half BOINC and half Folding machine. 16 CPU to BOINC and 16 to Folding. Right now the 3060 is attached to boinc and a GTX 980 for Folding. Just upgraded PSU from a 750watt corsair that was limiting GPU capacity to a EVGA supernova 1600P+. Most likely will end up with a TITAN V and radeon vii or vega frontier, or may just do two AMD cards. This is a purely dedicated rig. I really wanted to do a core ultra build with some of the new intel battlemage GPU but between scalpers and stability issues, AMD it is, plus had the mobo on hand.

The GPU situation is still crazy. I would strongly consider going AMD except I want to get back to GPUGrid. Also the last time I tried installing AMD drivers on Linux it was a nightmare. I intended to get a 5080 (or 2) for my build, but not at these prices!

Agree, really thinking the radeon stuff is the way to go, plus will work with the "theme" of the build. I no longer can support NVIDIA and ASUS to that extent. The consumer rake over is insane. Plus the paper launch of the 50 series is emberassing. I have a 7900xtx that in my gaming rig, but dont want to run anything on it for risk of shortening lifespan. I do recognize that the prupose of boinc was founded to use what you have but had some recogntion at work inf orm of a few bonuses to dedicate to a crunching machine. We will see what the future holds
