My primary cruncher sounds like a hovercraft and was given a six-hour break today while we had family here. Just like the Jeffersons, we are "Moving on Up."

I'll be slowing down soon as the summer heat hits.
Yes, I am transitioning to summer mode.
We broke 80 here for two straight days and the basement temps are climbing.
My desktop will continue on Folding@home but crunchers are finishing up work and will be powered off.

Computer temperatures are not a limitation here, but the power bill due to the air-conditioner running certainly is! The team scored 8,585,361 points yesterday!

I'm on a reduced schedule now, both CPU and GPU, 9pm to 9am except for the 590 that's Folding. It doesn't generate much heat and compared to my other GPUs is cheap to operate so I'm leaving it run 24/7 for now.

I'm not too concerned about computer temps, but when the office gets over 90 I start slowing them down. And I don't crunch at all when I run the air, so typically I'm not crunching much June through August. We had an unseasonably wet and cool May here but those low temps are coming to an end.

A wonderful day to us all!

Firstly, I'd like to point that yesterday I made some comments about FAH here (https://www.boincusa.com/forum/index.php?threads/hello.1756/#post-4642).

This COVID-19 really looks like a fantastic opportunity for making crunching a lot more popular.

If I'm not wrong, we are still far behind the other teams (#800). @Nick Name , do you think it's a good idea to move at least one of my machines to run just FAH for a while?

Finally, I would like to ask if there's a possibility to limit the use of GPU to a certain percentage (for example, 90%) or if it's all or nothing (I don't know about the demographics of the BOINC user, but as far as I know after entering this forum it seems that most of them are computer masters *lol*).

Ps.: I apologize for my broken English. I'm not a native speaker and I'm still learning this beautiful language.

The CPUs.txt file has been revised and my Radeon HD 7990 is listed as having a New Zealand GPU instead of Tahiti, and all work fails. I've been a beta tester there since the ATI X1900 (All-in-Wonder) was new. I'm not going to post about it. I'm just tired of fighting the GPU list.

Trying to get my 100 year badge on ARP at WCG which should happen on or about mid-May. After that, will be moving back to F@H for awhile. I'm slightly aggravated at WCG (yes, again) for restricting work on the OPN1 GPU version. They did this with ARP when it first rolled out. I haven't been able to figure out the logic of making a big PR push with the OPNG work then restricting how much work goes out. Uplinger says he wants to make sure the amount of work doesn't cause any problems for the infrastructure but it shouldn't be hard to get an estimate of the amount of work that could be returned based on the beta testing. He's been there almost as long as I have and was there during the HCC GPU work. Use that as a starting point to calculate disk storage, bandwidth, database transaction counts, etc. Anyway, I've had to reinstall the OS on a few machines to accommodate the new GPU so that means I will have to reinstall the FAH client and then add the GPU. Once I drain down the ARP work I'll reactivate/reinstall the FAH client a machine at a time.
