Direct download link here. There are apps for Linux and Windows, in SSE2 / AVX / FMA versions. Check your processor instruction set for which one you need, a program like CPU-Z will work for that. You should see times reduced by at least 50%, probably more if you can use AVX. The SSE2 app reduced times on Cruncher #1 from around 100 minutes to 50, depending on what else is running.

Right now using this requires you to use the Anonymous platform aka an app_info.xml file. You will need to stop BOINC, copy BOTH the provided app_info.xml and app file into the project folder, then restart. You do not need to remove any files in the folder. MAKE SURE you don't have any tasks running before you do this or you will lose that work.

The optimized version now the default app supplied by the project, so an app_info is no longer needed. A Mac version will hopefully be coming soon.

Note that if you have an app_info in place, if you delete it before those tasks are done they will error out. Finish what you have, shut down BOINC and then remove the app_info. You will then get the new app. You can also do a project reset, but that will clear everything so if you're using an app_config you'll have to redo that.

Nick Names second post said it was now the default app on the project, if that's the case no downloads are necessary as the project will supply the app to your client. Hopefully he will drop in to confirm this.

Yes, you should now receive the SSE, AVX or FMA application automatically, depending on what your CPU supports. One thing has changed, the work units have doubled in length now, so the crunching time is the same as before. However the credit has also doubled. Even longer work units are expected soon.

Hi, is the App File named "pc" in the zip or tgz?

I haven't kept up with recent developments, although I know there is a new optimized app available. I haven't gotten around to trying to install it on my machines. Originally, it was called pc.exe, so it's likely the new one is called that as well.

Eventually this newly optimized version will be made the default and everyone will get it.
