This goes back some years ago but there is a file that helps the Fourier Transform routines work better in a given environment. May not be the same for GPUs. In the slot directory you will see a wisdom.dat file. To create one for a particular machine you have to run a program in the projects directory (fftwf-wisdom_FGRP5_1.08_*) with these parameters: "-o FGRPB1wisdom.dat rib67108864". It will run awhile (maybe 30 minutes to an hour). It will create a file called FGRPB1wisdom.dat in the projects directory that will get copied into the slots directory as wisdom.dat when each task starts. It seems to be helping the runtime by about 5% to 10% so far. None of the tasks with the new file have finished yet.

The new wisdom file seems to have dropped the run time on CPU tasks about 1 1/2 to 2 hours on average. The tasks with the new file overtook the WUs running with the old file.

It looks like I should have just aborted the GW tasks as a good chunk of those are Invalid and I still have quite few pending. I have a few FGRP tasks coming up Invalid on the Windoze box, right now it's under 2% so it's annoying but not a show stopper. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse. So far they have all validated on the Linux box.
Whatever you're doing it's working, you've risen to #14 on our einstein team!

The Linux box ran out of work today, not sure why. I have a few invalids and maybe it's in the 24 hour backoff. :(

We made it, we knocked "Planet3DNow!" down the ladder one notch. USA is now 9th !!!!

Not sure what happened but it wasn't a 24 hour backoff. I'll probably keep crunching through the end of the month, maybe another couple weeks before I get back to my normal routine. We might move up another spot or two.

Looks like Bill Nye and the planetary society are the next targets!

Planet 3DNow! knocked us back down to tenth. However, we may both pass the Planetary Society soon.

Absolutely, we are up by a couple of hundred thousand now where before it seemed like it was less than 100,000 points. Also, closing in on Planetary Society. I have finally made it into the 1st page of RAC for our team. Going for 100,000 hopefully. All CPU.

EDIT: My original numbers were waaaayyyy too low...

I jumped in here with 3 GPUs and in the last 2 days have added more than 50,000 to the points total. Looks like we are really close to passing The Planetary Society for 8th!
Keep crunching!!

Top RAC from CPU work is really quite amazing!
