- World Community Grid pauses sending out work units: February 14, 2022.
- World Community Grid pauses receiving work units: February 27, 2022.
- Website and forum will be offline: from February 28 until April 22, 2022. A simplified version of the website will act as a sign post during the transition, to share updates and communicate our progress and roadmap for the World Community Grid in 2022. "
With last Wednesday's report that the QA testing was at 80% complete, I thought to myself that the last 10% of progress takes about 30% of the project time. I was a ship delivery coordinator (formerly ship superintendent) for new construction ships when I was in the Navy. With the WCG project to continue this coming Friday, I recalled that I was once in another boring Monday ship progress meeting where the craft foremen were all stating that their current milestones would be completed on Friday. Finally, the contractor's ship superintendent said, "The only man who ever got anything done by Friday was Robinson Cruso."

Going to be interesting to see when (or if) they actually start on the 22nd. Is it 8AM?, noon?, midnight?. The client has a 24 hour backoff going so it seems to only check once a day. I've activated an update command for the client to check every 30 minutes.
Does anyone know why all https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org servers have been down for about 12 hours?
Finally a Tweet an hour ago saying, "All subdomains of *.worldcommunitygrid.org which includes the upload, download, and scheduler URLs are currently experiencing an outage due to a networking failure. We are working to resolve this issue and bring the system back online ASAP. New information will be shared here."
