I've entered the team in the In Memory of Dylan Bucci - 2025 challenge.

Created By: Sisler Cyber Academy
Open Challenge? Yes
Start date: 02/19/2025
End date: 03/09/2025
Challenge type: Points
Late Entrants Allowed? Yes
Challenge project: All Projects

Team members are encouraged but not required to participate. Most of us are already crunching here, and all projects are eligible so you can keep doing your thing! Let's have fun and contribute to a great project in honor of this young man taken too soon.

Edit: It appears that MCM (Mapping Cancer Markers) is the only project with work now. It's CPU only.

They usually run out of work on weekends. What a challenge! I quit WCG because of the sporadic work.

I've got work, but I'm not requesting much either. I had pretty much shut everything down except for bringing the folding rig back because I planned to have a new build running by now. That hasn't happened yet but hopefully soon. Outages during challenges are frustrating but I try to keep in mind that I'm serving the project, not vice-versa. No work means I do another project or save on electric costs which is becoming ever more relevant.

I could handle 36 tasks simultaneously but I have been unable to get more than five tasks at a time on either computer. Currently, there are no WCG tasks available. WCG has not improved since United Devices' "Backing off...unable to connect" messages.

Been away for awhile and only running on a stack of Pi's. Just fired up an older intel platform for this, no work yet it looks like.

And then this.

46764 World Community Grid 2/25/2025 8:43:06 PM Tasks for NVIDIA GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them
46765 World Community Grid 2/25/2025 8:43:06 PM Tasks for AMD/ATI GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them
46766 World Community Grid 2/25/2025 8:43:06 PM Tasks for Intel GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them

I don't believe there are any GPU tasks for MCM.

I'm on a very old version of BOINC that gives various error messages that don't actually seem to be correct, across multiple projects. I have parts to build a new system so it's not worth looking into. Also this is the old Windoze 8 box so not worth trying to upgrade anything. I'm hoping I can find time next month to get this build done, because I'm starting to run into programs running out of support.

I got some workloads now, threw an old W10 VM together to crunch on a 13900, dedictaed 24 CPU cores to it.

Whats your new build consisting of NickName?

Yes, looks like tasks are being sucked up about as soon as they're created.

I had fully intended to go with AMD on this one, however when I looked at testing Intel was ahead in the benchmarks that I thought were important for BOINC. I am building with a Ultra 7 265K, ton of RAM and a couple of 4060 GPUs to start. I bought most of the parts last year and was planning on putting 5070 or 80s in, however the GPU pricing and availability is still ridiculous. I would have had it built but I've had to deal with some health issues this year (both myself and family) that have slowed things down. I was actually in the hospital over the weekend but hopefully things are going to be better going forward. :D

Very nice. I was debating a core ultra build myself or AMD. Got a free am4 board. Was thing 5950x. For now a buddy is going to loan me an aging 1700. Between DDR5, new mobo, and the core ultra processor itself it’s doesn’t leave me a lot of “budget” for GPU. I want to run a mix of a titan V and probably some sort of Vega 64 for fp64 performance also. My newer stuff like my 2070s/1050/60 and 750ti you have me forever ago just don’t have the FP64 performance.

My systems are so old anything new would be a major upgrade but I wanted something that would last a few years. It didn't hurt that Micro Center had an awesome bundle deal with that CPU. I'm not thrilled with the P and E core design but it will certainly be faster than what I currently have. Plus it has the iGPU.

Getting back on topic, they may have refilled the queue. I have work and a few reserve tasks! :woot:
